Voters should pick their politicians, not the other way around. That’s the thought behind Draw The Line Minnesota, a citizen group that is working to draw the maps for congressional and legislative districts.

Starting next week a special judicial panel will hold public hearings on drawing those lines. Draw the Line Minnesota is educating people on the process so they can provide more effective testimony. One of the presenters to the group is Minnesota State Demographer Tom Gillaspy.

Draw the Line Minnesota is a joint project of the League of Women Voters Minnesota, the Minnesota Council of Non-profits, the Midwest Democracy Network, and other partners who are committed to a high level of accountability and complete transparency. In the vital democratic process of redistricting, responsible citizen engagement is paramount.
