House Minority Leader Paul Thissen (DFL-Minneapolis) becomes frustrated with Representative Mary Kiffmeyer’s (R-Big Lake) non-specific answers to specific questions about her voter photo ID constitutional amendment. Thissen is concerned that the phrase “substantially equivalent” ID which is in the constitutional amendment isn’t in the ballot question and could end up disenfranchising military absentee ballot voters.

Representative Debra Hillstrom had questions she never got to ask. House Majority Leader Matt Dean cut off debate on the bill and called for a vote on the bill despite DFL objections. It passed 13-10 and will be voted on by the House Tuesday at 5pm.
